Dawn has more than 25 years of experience serving the investment and workforce needs of business clients. Dawn is a Certified Economic Developer specializing in site location and incentives consulting. Prior to co-founding Atlas Insight, Dawn was regional practice leader with BDO Seidman’s Business Location Incentives and Site Selection (BLISS) group.
Her work with clients includes all aspects of business strategy and economic development planning and implementation. She consults on rehabilitation, new construction, employment growth and development, consolidation and exit strategies. Dawn manages the public incentive identification, negotiation and compliance process working with advanced technology, research and development, manufacturing, food processing, financial services, transportation, warehouse and distribution, back office and call center clients. She specializes in complex site and incentive projects including urban and brownfield redevelopment, consolidation and retention issues.
Prior to BDO, Dawn worked for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as Global Managing Director and subsequently moved into management consulting holding an executive consulting position with Deloitte.
Dawn is a member of the National Brownfield Association, the Michigan Economic Developers Association, Corenet Global, Council of Real Estate Women and International Development Council.
She holds a B.S. in Accounting and a Master of Science – Administration.
Brian brings over 14 years of economic development experience to the Atlas team. Prior to co-founding Atlas Insight, Brian was a regional practice leader within BDO Seidman’s Business Location Incentives and Site Selection (BLISS) group and was the point person on the firm’s US and European site selection clients. Prior to joining BDO, Brian was a Partner with Mintax, where he developed their site location and discretionary incentive practice. In 2006, Brian helped guide the transition team after the sale of Mintax to ADP. Brian was then retained by ADP as the Executive Director over the Location Advisory and Economic Development Incentive group. Throughout his career Brian has assisted numerous Fortune 500® companies such as HSBC, Kraft, Philip Morris, Pfizer, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Yahoo with their site selection and incentive needs.
Brian has authored numerous articles for various trade publications
including Expansion Management, Site Selection Magazine, and The
Business Xpansion Journal, and has been the featured speaker at
conferences such as CoreNet Global, TEI, and The World Research
Group. Brian currently sits on the editorial advisory board of Business
Xpansion Journal, an industry
trade publication.
Brian holds a B.S. Economics Rutgers University with concentrations in Accounting and Finance.
Kathy has over 15 years of combined experience as an entrepreneur
and management consultant. Her consulting career has focused on
securing statutory and discretionary incentives and tax credits for
development and expansion projects. Prior to co-founding Atlas Insight,
Kathy was a regional practice leader at BDO Seidman’s Business Location
Incentives and Site Selection
(BLISS) group.
Some previous clients include AIG, HSBC; JP Morgan Chase, MetLife, Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Pfizer, Vornado Realty Trust and Whole Foods Market. She works with clients throughout the country. Kathy has been directly responsible in securing over $500 million of as-ofright and discretionary incentives for various companies. She assists clients in a variety of sectors, including but not limited to, manufacturing, distribution, retail and financial services. Kathy also has a specialization in working on highly complex real estate development projects. She is a member of CoreNet, ULI and the Association of Real Estate Woman and has co-authored articals for various trade publications.
Kathy holds a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University.
